Annual Reset

The annual reset has occurred! 😆😒

Although this time the website has been re-written from scratch, updated to the latest software stack and I'm making the website modular, releasing the code of my plugins for anyone to use. No warranties of course! You break it, you fix it. I can't provide much support for it all unfortunately.

Now that I'm starting to slow down, I'm hoping this annual rewrite of everything will end. Whilst I enjoy it, I can't code for 14 hours straight, 5 days a week anymore! 🥱😴

I'm reorganizing everything in the cabinet, software wise. Thankfully I had the hardware side sorted before the world went to shit! What this means is that all the game servers have gone offline, although the Minecraft server went offline late last year but nobody noticed (or they did and nobody told ME)! They may come back one day. The media server and related services are still online. I think I just took on to much at a time of year when I didn't have the time or patience to deal with it. Everything got outdated, left behind and eventually wasn't usable. I'd like to rewrite my Minecraft plugin to be in a state that I can actually release the code.

The Discord server is also gone. Their botched rollout of age verification, the leaking of 70,000 ID's (which was a 3rd party leak to be fair but I feel Discord... actually, ANY company... should not be storing ID's like that in the first place) and their links to Epstein buddy, Palantir's Peter Thiel all left a very bad taste in my mouth and I can't support that company anymore. I'm looking at alternatives but haven't decided on anything yet.

Anyway, the reason I'm doing this now is because I'm starting to get more sick with each passing month. I don't have the capacity to concentrate like I used to. I don't have the energy either. The CFS is the worst it's been in my entire life meaning I'm spending more and more time bedridden. The migraines are starting to return and my body just wants to give up. Combine that with other life issues and, well, I'm not doing that great.

But, I still enjoy this stuff. I still enjoy the programming and the tinkering. I just need to reduce the workload, so I'm going through all the software in the cabinet and trying to reduce/consolidate/simplify the deployments. Maybe I should write some posts about that...
